Steve Jobs Funeral Is Friday At Westboro Baptist Church

The family of Steve Jobs scheduled his funeral for today, Oct. 7, according to a report. He was know for being a quiet man who kept himself to himself - but became the iconic face of modern technology. So it’s only fitting that the funeral for Apple co-founder Steve Jobs, who died this week aged 56, took place as a small private gathering.

The location was not disclosed out of respect for Jobs's family, the Wall Street Journal reports. The funeral is characterized as a small private gathering, this person said. The person wouldn't say where or when the event was taking place, citing respect for Mr. Jobs and his family's privacy. In a letter to Apple's employees on Wednesday, Apple Chief Executive Tim Cook said that the company is "planning a celebration of Steve's extraordinary life" for staff that will take place soon.

There are no public services planned but Apple has invited the public to send memories, thoughts and condolences to a special email address. A source told the Wall Street Journal that the funeral was happening on Friday but would not give details of where or when it was taking place.

A small, private funeral is taking place Friday for Apple founder Steve Jobs, who died this week at age 56 after a long battle with pancreatic cancer. There's Twitter, and Facebook, and other social network forums to easily reach the world. And so it is with tiny-but-troubling Westboro Baptist Church, which has held hostage the search term "Steve Jobs Funeral" since Apple co-founder and long-time CEO Steve Jobs died Wednesday.

The funeral is characterized as a small private gathering, this person said. The person wouldn't say where or when the event was taking place, citing respect for Mr. Jobs and his family's privacy. Jobs died Wednesday at 56. Apple Inc. announced no cause of death, but Jobs had been diagnosed with a rare pancreatic cancer seven years ago and had a liver transplant in 2009.

But Westboro Baptist Church ironically made the announcement on an iPhone - and later said they would only picket a public remembrance. In a letter to Apple's employees on Wednesday, Apple Chief Executive Tim Cook said that the company is "planning a celebration of Steve's extraordinary life" for staff that will take place soon.

"Westboro will picket his funeral. He had a huge platform; gave God no glory & taught sin," wrote Margie Phelps, daughter of church leader Fred Phelps, on Twitter Wednesday night.

Holiday Deals For iPhones In 2011

Black Friday is the day after Thanksgiving, when retailers slash prices on items in order to create a buying frenzy and shoppers wait in lines that span around malls for cheap laptops, tablets and HDTVs.

This all-important day for retailers is their opportunity to take advantage of the beginning of the Christmas shopping season to get themselves "in the black," actually making profits over and above the store's bottom line.

With September almost over, it’s time to turn our eyes to the next major event in the tech world. No, I’m not talking about the iPhone 5 release date, but a date that has almost the same level of buzz — Black Friday. Parsing a politician’s words has never been so tricky.

The release date for the iPhone 5 and the iPhone 4S is next month according to current Apple board member and former U.S. Vice President Al Gore, who spoke at a conference this week and revealed that the “new iPhones” (plural) will debut in October, quipping that it was an intentional plug. One of the best sales during Black Friday 2010 was Apple’s iPod Nano 6G which was released in the previous fall. This small little music player with touch screen user interface is a must for any music lover, especially for teenagers, and has been one of the top gifts for last Christmas.

As early as today, many people are now preparing their lists of items to buy for themselves and as gifts to their loved ones and certainly are now scouring website by website fishing scoops of the best deals their favorite store could probably offer. Black Friday 2011 Predictions

It is hard to believe that the Christmas and Winter Holiday shopping season is almost upon us. Although it is now only mid-September, sales predictions are already starting. Phillip Swan, over at TVPredictions.com has put forth six predictions, and Black Friday at GottaDeal.com has an extensive analysis of what to expect for Black Friday and the Holiday shopping period for several tech product categories.

One of the most important retailers on the US market which has had an impact during the Black Friday sales day is Walmart. Wal-Mart Stores Inc, branded as Walmart since 2008 is an American multinational corporation which is a chain of discount department stores and warehouse stores. Last year continued the trend of down years for many retailers, both traditional and online.

This holiday season including Black Friday is shaping up to be an important final opportunity for retailers to make up for the lackluster sales they've had the rest of the year. If you want to throw away money, Dealnews expects that you’ll be able to purchase an Android tablet for $75.

These Android tablets typically retail for $99, and have lackluster performance and specs — even for the average user. With Black Friday being exactly a month from Christmas, retailers will have to get consumers shopping earlier rather than counting on Black Friday and the few remaining weekends in December to provide most of their sales.

Online retailers, and brick & mortar retailers with e-commerce sites have the advantage here as they can quickly prepare and promote online sales leading up to Black Friday.

Black Friday 2011 iPhone And iPhone 5 Release Date

With September almost over, it’s time to turn our eyes to the next major event in the tech world. Since all that conflicting information can be hard to track, we offer this handy timeline of iPhone 5 rumors so far in 2011. We'll add to it as we go along, and please let us know if we've left any juicy tidbits out. The iPhone 5 is weeks away from being announced, according to The New York Times, which cited an Apple employee.

The new smartphone will include an 8-megapixel camera, an A5 dual-core processor, mobile payment functions and possibly the Qualcomm mobile phone chip. Sadly Apple doesn’t get into the Black Friday festivities like many other retailers. This doesn’t mean you won’t find any Apple deals, you just won’t find them at Apple.com.

Apple often does a few deals that will allow customers to receive a free iPod Touch with the purchase of a MacBook or an iMac. Black Friday 2011 iMac:

The iMac could not possibly be easier to set up (there’s just the power cable to plug in). When it first boots, it visually instructs you to turn on your mouse and keyboard and literally guides you in less than 30 seconds through a total set up. The season of Thanksgiving and gift sharing is fast approaching, so as the much awaited Black Friday sale!

As early as today, many people are now preparing their lists of items to buy for themselves and as gifts to their loved ones and certainly are now scouring website by website fishing scoops of the best deals their favorite store could probably offer. In terms of the hardware: this is the new Intel i5 Quad Core Sandy Bridge processor (the latest generation of desktop processors) featuring two of the new Thunderbolt high-speed data transfer ports. While presently the Thunderbolt interface is too new for consumer devices, when it becomes standard issue this will be an amazing, cutting edge feature.

The new iMac features next-generation Intel Core i5 quad-core processors and the fastest graphics ever in an all-in-one computer. It also brings Thunderbolt I/O technology to the desktop for lightning-fast data transfer. And a new FaceTime HD camera lets you make full-screen HD video calls.

Black Friday Apple Sales

You can get an early look at Apple's discounts for Black Friday on the store site now. Savings include $101 off the purchase of new MacBook Pro or MacBook Air laptops, and the same off new iMacs. Last year, Apple had a similar event on Black Friday.

The deals were decent, but not spectacular; at best you could save $100 on more expensive items such as the iMac or the MacBook Pro. This year will probably be all about the iPad; if you’ve been saving for one, this might be your best chance to keep some of those hard-earned dollars in your pocket. You can purchase a large selection of computers, iPods, iPhones, iPads, printers, keyboards, mice, speakers, memory, home theater systems, and electronic accessories.

They carry popular computers and laptops including the MacBook, the MacBook Pro, the iMac, the Mac mini, and the Macbook Air. First and foremost we must consider Apple. It is sad to see Steve not heading up the operation any more, but we wish him many more years of health and to be on the sidelines keeping Apple at the cutting edge.

This brings to mind the new iPhone 5. For the past two years, Apple has offered similar savings on Black Friday - $101 off the iMac and MacBook Pro, as well as savings on iPods and Apple TV.

In addition, many people take a day of their annual leave on the day after Thanksgiving. If you will need a particular service on Black Friday, it is wise to check carefully whether the organization or company will be open as normal. Public transit systems may run on their normal schedule or may have changes.

The previous year, Apple launched the new square, touch screen iPod under the 6G, but this model had eliminated the camera which was previously present in the 5G generation. It is expected that the 7G which will be out this fall will come with a reintegrated camera. This comes after leaks in the beginning of this summer with a couple of pictures of the new iPod Nano 7G. These are the best Black Friday Deals.

While big retailers like Amazon and Best Buy are trying to persuade you that their price cut is the best bargain you'll get on that laptop you desire, tech-savvy shoppers are quietly scoring ridiculous deals only the Internet could offer.

"We have an EP coming on Black Friday,” said Havoc. “We didn’t come up with a title yet, but we’ll have a title that will mean something. It will be like seven or eight songs. I did like three. We have some produced by J.U.S.T.I.C.E. League, Alchemist and this kid named Young Free.”
